Electronic Assessment Plan

Learning Outcome
To discuss fashion over the centuries, from different perspectives, by making a multimedia project

Games/Test & Quiz Makers/Flashcards
Students
-Receive a survey made with Google Docs forms and sent via e-mail (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OSG6645SlGkrSRGGCxIvQiOmJzEWgDu-vvoaaTiZDpY/viewform) in which they have to express their interests and talents (this will be done one week before the class)
-Solve a quiz assigned on Engrade (https://www.engrade.com/app/?app=quizzes), meant to determine prior knowledge on clothes and accessories vocabulary. They are also given the opportunity to practice more, by accessing the flashcards created on the same site: https://flashcards.engrade.com/clothesandaccessories;  https://flashcards.engrade.com/clothesandaccessories1

Teachers
- determine students' interests by conducting a survey on what students are particularly interested in when talking about fashion (men/ women wear, accessories...how sports equipment evolved over the ages), what devices they prefer using in devising projects (video, power point, sketch...), what devices they have at home that they could use for school work, what talents they have (singing, acting, playing a musical instrument, mixing music, drawing, etc) and if they would use them in project  work. (the survey will be sent via e-mail a week before assigning the task, in order to determine group formation according to common interests and different talents, technological skills)
- Devise a quiz to determine prior knowledge, assigned on Engrade
- Show a video about the topic (Fashion over the centuries) and a personal story related to fashion, accompanied by personal pictures to hook up students.

Rubrics
Students
Know what they are expected to do by consulting the rubric link  http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php?screen=ShowRubric&module=Rubistar&rubric_id=2316690& available on the blog http://gabrieladragu.blogspot.ro/.
Teachers
- devise rubrics, which they post on their blogs, so as students could be able to consult them
Electronic Projects
Students
- work in groups to make a presentation/ video on the topic 'Fashion over the centuries', which they will later post on Facebook for their class to see. They first write a proposal on how they plan to organize the project, what resources they will use, how they will present it and how they will measure whether they are successful or not.
Teachers

- act as guides and facilitators
- provide students with materials, resources
- give advice on organization
- encourage students to use their creativity and talents to personalize the presentation
- publish the projects on the blog http://gabrieladragu.blogspot.ro/
E-Gradebooks
Students
- can see their grades and read observations and suggestions (https://www.engrade.com/class/gradebook/?clid=5000006730775)
Teachers

- assess according to the criteria provided at the beginning in the rubric posted on the blog.
- give grades, make observations and suggestions
- encourage students by making comments on the blog and Facebook group
Student Self-Evaluation (journals, portfolios, blogs)
Students
- assess their own work according to criteria they established at the beginning of the project and the criteria provided by the teacher on the rubric published on the blog
- write journal entries, share ideas and thoughts with their peers on blogs or Facebook group
Teachers

- encourage students to consider evaluation criteria as they develop their project (this way, they will determine whether their work is successful or not)

What are some ways you can use technology to differentiate or personalize learning?
Technology creates opportunities for students to use, adapt and contribute to content. It gives them a voice in what they are learning and a choice in how they demonstrate their learning. I encourage students to drive their own learning according to their passions and aspirations. Consequently, they become more motivated and engaged in the learning process.
